I make expensive things take fewer steps.

99% is an A in most industries. In aerospace and finance, it’s an incident report.

What people say

“Colby has mastered the fine art of management.”

He knows how to provide the right amount of guidance to empower his people to be successful. When onboarding me onto a new project, he took the time to give me an overview of the ask and my role in delivering the solution. From there, he pointed me to additional helpful resources. Because he believed in me and gave me the support I needed, I had the confidence and knowledge to lead customer meetings, present my ideas to upper management, and learn new technologies.

I sincerely hope that I get to work with Colby again in the future — beyond his managerial skills, he is a genuine and insightful human who knows how to lead with empathy.

Everything above this line is me describing my own work. This is somebody else describing it.

Zero to Sixty

Where it started

During my first three years of college I spent my nights and weekends parking cars for people I wanted to be like one day. When a CEO or a big-time celebrity stayed at our Uptown hotel, I would take the keys and dream about being in their shoes. That is the season I learned what excellent customer service actually is.

Hilton, Uptown Charlotte. It is the same question the podcast asks nine other people, and the reason I kept asking it.
